About the organisers

Robogals is a student-run organisation that aims to increase female participation in engineering, science and technology. This is achieved through fun and educational initiatives aimed at girls in primary and secondary schools.
Our primary activity is running an outreach program where university student volunteers visit schools to run robotics workshops using LEGO NXT robots, and mentor teams in robotics competitions that engage girls in a hands-on engineering experience from a young age. Robogals also runs other events and programmes around this central theme; such events include a world record-breaking mass robot dance, science fairs, robotics camps and participation in expos.
Founded in 2008 by female engineering students at the University of Melbourne, Robogals has now grown to have 11 chapters across Australia, the UK and Ireland and its programs have reached over 850 schoolgirls.
The Robots Are Coming, a robotic installation art exhibition held in Wynyard Park, Sydney, is a very public event designed to attract publicity to Robogals and our cause, while also being an opportunity for young artists to have their work displayed in a very public place! We hope you enjoy the exhibition, and make sure you vote online for your favourite robot and tell your friends to do the same :)
